History is   Awesome!

Even though teaching history is an awesome profession, history hasn't always been a favorite subject of mine.  When I was in high school, I really didn't care for history.  I don't think my teachers did enough to bring history alive.  My teachers basically wrote down the information on the board and asked us to create some project or another.  We really never participated while learning history.

Now that I am a U.S. history teacher at Anaheim High School, I feel that it is my duty to show students how fun it can be to learn history.  I try to create lessons where students take the information I give them and recreate it in another way.  I do a lot of formative assessment activities to make sure students are learning the material.  My goal in my classes are for my students to leave with a sense of appreciation for history.
